The human HSV virus type DNA virus is divided into two subtypes according to the difference of their antigen properties: HSV- I and HSV- II. HSV- I mainly invades the surface, brain and waist, and HSV- II mainly invades the genitals and the lower part of the waist. Normal people can be used as a carrier of the virus. Human herpes simplex virus is the only natural host, and 70% to 90% of the adults have been infected with HSV- I. The virus invades the body through oral cavity, respiratory tract, genital and skin breakage, and lives in normal mucosa, blood, saliva, nervous tissue and most organs. When certain predisposing factors such as fever, cold, sun, emotional, gastrointestinal disorders, drug allergy, excessive fatigue, mechanical stimulation, menstruation, pregnancy and promoting cost disease, or may hematogenous spread of neural pathways.
人類HSV系DNA類病毒，根據(jù)其抗原性質(zhì)的不同分為兩個亞型：即HSV-Ⅰ和HSV-Ⅱ。HSV-Ⅰ主要侵犯面、腦及腰以上部位，HSV-Ⅱ主要侵犯生殖器及腰以下部位。正常人可作為病毒攜帶者。人是單純皰疹病毒惟一的自然宿主，70%～90%的成人皆曾感染過HSV-Ⅰ。病毒經(jīng)過口腔、呼吸道、生殖器以及皮膚破損處侵入體內(nèi)，潛居于人體正常黏膜、血液、唾液、神經(jīng)組織及多數(shù)器官內(nèi)。當(dāng)某些誘發(fā)因素如發(fā)熱、受涼、日曬、情緒激動、胃腸功能紊亂、藥物過敏、過度疲勞、機(jī)械性刺激以及月經(jīng)、妊娠等均促成本病發(fā)生，可通過血行或神經(jīng)通路播散。

INTENDED USE
Focus Diagnostics’ HerpeSelect ® 1 ELISA IgG test is intended for qualitatively detecting the presence or absence of human IgG class antibodies to HSV-1 in
human sera. In conjunction with the Focus Diagnostics HerpeSelect ® 2 ELISA IgG, the test is indicated for testing sexually active adults or expectant mothers for
aiding in the presumptive diagnosis of HSV infection. The assay can be used manually or in conjunction with an automated system as outlined in the package
insert. The user is responsible for assay performance characteristics when an automated system is used. The performance of this assay has not been established
for use in a pediatric population, for neonatal screening, or for testing of immunocompromised patients.
